To the Editor of the^ Nelson Evening Mail. Sir,—ln your issue of to-day, my attention has been drawn to a letter from Mr. C. B. Either, to the Waimea Boad Board, complaining of the nuisance of trees being planted close to the edge of the'road, on the side exposed to*the sun at Richmond; and as I happen to be the only person now planting trees to any extent, in this place, in justification to myself, and in opposition to Mr. Wither's remarks, allow me to make a few observations in vindication of what Mr, Wither is pleased to term " the nuisance." About eight months since, I became. the occupier; of Rostrevor, in this district, and on taking - •possession' found; the place veiy imperfectly bounded, and subdivided by inferior gorse fences," injurious both to myself and also-to the road abutting on such fences.
