Before John Shabp, Esq., EM. This Day. Sheat v. Fowler. This was an actiou to recover the sum of £18, being the value of two head of cattle entrusted to the charge of the defendant. Mr. Pitt appeared for the plaintiff and Dr. Combe for the defendaut. Evidence was taken at some length, and judgment was given for the plaintiff for £16, and costs, £4 ss. Cattle Trespass. Thomas Wimsett, and A. Devauey, were fined ss. each, and costs, for permitting their horses to be at large in the streets. J. Shepherd was fined 10s., and costs, for allowing two cows to stray. Assault. James Hogg, of Nelson, maltster, was charged with unlawfully assaulting and beating Robert Aitkeu. Fined Is., and costs. Lunacy. Thomas Brown, was, on the testimony of Drs. Cotterell and Vickerman, admitted to the Lunatic Asylum.
