WAGES ATTACHED FOR FINE.
A. "defiaitt young Territorial," as an exchange puts it, camo before Mr. W. A. Barton, S.M., at Gisborno tho other week, and his Worship made nn order to have a fine of £2 deducted from his wages. This is considered to be the first time in a New Zealand court that an attachment order has been made in connection with a fine imposed' for military offences, power being given to magistrates under the Defence Amendment. Act which has just come into force.
