Holland in Dunedin.

GOOD MEETINCS.

While Comrade Holland was with us he did great work for Socialism. Advantage was taken of the beautifully fine weather by using the historical rostrum of Dunedin (CargilPs Monument) for the purpose of delivering the message of industrial solidarity and Socialist politics and incidentally dodging the rent-lords.

Comrade Holland spoke on the question of arbitration law in Australia and New Zealand, and trenchantly exposed the designs of the law to effectively manacle the Labor movement hand and foot and working-class agitators as well.

Our comrade also spoke on the question of strikes and Labor Party politics in Australia, by exposing the strikebreaking methods adopted by political Labor representatives, and showing that although a strike may appear to be lost, the ultimate effect is always gain for class solidarity and betterment*.

On the Sunday night in the Queen's Theatre Holland spoke to a fair audience, and traced the march of _ the German workers toward the achievement of the social revolution, showing that notwithstanding all efforts of the capitalist government to retard the onslaught on private privilege and ccrmption, the people are storming over every barrier, and are now within measurable distance of taking up the reins of power in their own behalf.

The waterside workers held a meeting to consider the question of seceding from the Federation. Comrade Holland was on hand, by request, for the purpose of addressing tho meeting, but for some reason not known to myself the meeting dispersed without hearing him. — CONSTABLE JOHN.
