DUNEDIN MOVING.
Tilings in Dunedin are beginning to move. The Trades Council at their last .meeting passed a resolution asking the churches to. declare the Sunday previous to Labor Day,. "Labor Sunday," and to preach special serin on» dealing with labor. . -Well, Labor Sunday has Icome and gone, the sermons, have been preached ■;■ '-' prayers have been '.'offered tip,; .and•. our? holy .Trades .Council are - ; now' go on. passing !piou!_' as they have . bee-ri ttoihg tWSe'inaiiy years. - : A '.'< The* "Fuy;n__tV_re ,Trade Unions of .<_ t-i'f*o'_ at last.-m..ting.- discussed a EcsoliitiUii 'dealing with tta.r witi.-
drawal from the C. and A. Act and joining the N.Z.F r L. All the arguments brought forward against the resolution were absolutely shattered by the supporters, and.-after a long and earnest discussion the matter was referred to the' next national conference of the Furniture Trades Union of Workers. So, whilst we see the Trades Council asking the churches to pray for labor, the Unions that belong to that body have come to the conclusion that they have prayed long enough without any results, have decided to do something themselves, and leave the praying to the capitalist class,- who will be in sore need of it once tlie workers are organised into One Big Union on industrial lines,, and have for their objective Socialism. There is hope for Dunedin yet.—M.W.S.
