The waterside workers held a special meeting here the other evening, discussed a new agreement to put before employers, and decided to ask for ■more money for the different classes of both laborious and dirty work, such as coal, superphosphates, freezing chambers, etc A motion was carried later in the evening that secede from .the South Canterbury T. and L. Council, and that we take .a ballot as to Whether we join the. N.Z.F.L. or not. — Carried, and ballot to be taken within seven days. • At a recent meeting, Gould, Socialist candidate, spoke on Socialism, Industrial Unionism and Eugenics, and received a splendid hearing. "Mabriland Workers" and. other literature were freely asked for. Timaru is, falling into line, A. little more of Bennett am.d Semple, and now Hartley coming, and our Liberal friend will be feeling ..shaky In bis scat.
