BULLER CANDIDATE WANTED.
Sir,—lt Avas Avith extreme regret 1 heard that the Buller Council of the N.Z.F.L. had decided not to run a Labor candidate for the forthcoming elections. A large, majority of Avorkers in this district — as Avell as throughout N.Z.—are absolutely disgusted with the way in Avhich Ward and Co. are running the country. With the stand taken by the Council it. Avill still mean the supporting of a GoA-ern-ment member who assists Baronet Joe with his compulsory training schemes, etc. That~Avo.rd compulsory—lioav it sticks! It will mean that Aye are to still slumber and drudge along as in the past. There will be no improvement as far as the W r ard Governmentis concerned. Three more years of toil and misery. As regards finance, surely if every worker in the* district would give, say, two shillings, ayo should at least be able to subscribe £250. This in itself Avould help, us along a good part of the journey. As for a suitable member, I feel sure that we should not have much trouble in finding one in our midst avlio could stand his ground and speak on behalf of the toilers of this district. One thing at least he AA'ould be able to-vote against the capitalistic principles of Joey Baronet's Government. Workers, unite into one huge mass and put up someone as a representative who Avill Avatch and work.-, for us. Then our conditions will improve. The military scab soldier will be a tiling of the past; the farm laborers AYill live under better conditions, and dozens of other matters which Avill finally lead to our ever-gloried aim— "A A\-orld's Avealth for the AA'orld's workers. —I am, etc., Granity. ANTI-MILITARIST.
