REV. JORDAN'S VIEW.
Sir, —I had penned a reply to your editorial of July 14th, but on further consideration, in A'iew of your statememt that you have "not the space nor physique to carry on a dozen controversies at the same time," haA-e decided'not to send it. I belieA-e the Socialistic movement in N.Z- will before many , years find it necessary to abandon Rationalism. Christianity is the most Socialistic religion in the Avorld—quite as much as Rationalism, I am sure. In fact, I believe the Avorld aaIII be won to Christianity through Socialism. When once the Socialist ideal -begins to become actual, humanity will find it needs a moral power to keep it stable. With this remark, I "ring off." Many thanks for your patient hearing. Westport.'
