All Saints’ Mothers’ Union
After conducting a short service in the Lady Chapel, Rev. Canon Or. Y. Woodward presided at the annual meeting of All Saints' Mothers' Union. The report presented by the secretary (Mrs. C. E. Metcalfe) showed a busy and successful year, and the balance-sheet, presented by the treasurer (Mrs. Eckerslcy), Tovealed a satisfactory position. Mrs. Briden-Jones reported for the sewing circle, showing that much useful work had been done in making clothes for children's homes and the needy. Several donations had enabled the circle to carry on despite the high cost of materials. Appreciation was expressed of Mrs. Dodson's offer to mind members' children during the meetings of the ensuing year. A letter of sympathy is to be sent to Mrs. Eancourt (a, former president), who recently suffered an accident. The meeting stood in silj ence in respect for two members who had passed away, Mesdames Wilcoclt ; and Park, and in sympathy with Mesdames Buck and Francis who had suffered bereavements. The vicar made an appeal for more members to visit the! hospital and for donations of gifts suitable for distribution to the patients. Mesdamcs Tricklebank, Cattrick, Pritchard, Ericsou and Inglis volunteered to act as hospital visitors for the remainder of March and the first two wcoks in April. In calling for nominations for officers for the ensuing year, I the vicar paid tribute to the splendid work carried out by those iu charge during the past term and to the spirit of happiness and cooperation which had prevailed. The following were appointed: Enrolling member, Mrs. J. Ax; secretary, Mrs. Metcalfe; treasurer, Mrs. Eckersley; committee, Mesdame6 Martin, C. Ax, K. McDowall, R. Carruthers, Briden-Jones, E. Dowrick, Ericson, W. Bigham, Barkwith, Thompson, A. Hunt, R. Dowick; organist, Mrs. Wollerman; music and entertainment conveners, Mesdames Bigham and Hunt; tea conveners, Mesdames Bigfiam and Carruthers; representative to National Council of Women, Mrs. Briden-Jones.
