Plunket Society
Mrs. G. C. Petersen presided at a meeting of the Palmerstton North branch ot i the Plunket Society, at which the resigna- , tlon of Mrs. W. J. Minogue, as she is i leaving Palmerston North shortly, was < received with regret, the society placing j on record its appreciation of her work as ■ a member of the committee. The nurse ’ reported that she had made 258 visits to . homes in Palmerston North, and that • 2013 visits had been made to the local i office, including 903 adults, 879 babies and 1 i-ll older children. There wore 4t> new ' cases in Palmerston North, and five in Foxton. In Foxton she had made four ; visits to homes, and had received 170 visits to the office. Sales for the month ■ totalled £5 7s sd, while donations amounted to £3 Os 8d and subscriptions to £5 17s lOd. Donations of flowers for the room from Mesdamcs Garner, Hansen, Hall, Schultz, Frecklington and Edwards, were acknowledged. The secretary i (Mrs. M. Aitchison) presented the : monthly financial statement, and this : was adopted. Mrs. Petersen. reported that she had asked Mrs. Batclielar to put the following remit before the annual Plunket Societies’ conference: “That the Milk Commission’s findings be Investigat- ■ ed, and that the Government make Tuberculin testing of herds compulsory.’’ Her action In this matter was confirmed. The organisation of the branch’s street day was discussed and arranged.
