Terrace End Labour Party

There Avas an enthusiastic and well attended meeting of tho Terrace End branch of the Labour Party Avhen the annual meeting and election of officers for the ensuing year took place. The president, in his report, referred to the splendid work performed by branch members during the election campaign and also to tho various activities of members in the community life of the city. Mr. Hodgens was thanked for his cooperation and willingness to assist whenever called upon and was again nominated along with other very capable and experienced members for office on various local bodies. t The secretary reported that as the result of correspondence betAveeu the post-master-General (Hon. P. C. Webb) and the cooperation of Mr. Hodgens, it had been decided to extend the free delivery area for telegrams to incorporate all streets within the borough. The extension will therefore include the area comprising Vogel, Rata, Haydon and Keith Streets in one direction, Manawatu Street in another, and Milford Road (Awapuni) in another. Previous to this welcome concession by the Post Office, it Avas usual for addressees residing in these areas to pay a delivery fee of one shilling for telegrams.
