Stanway
(From Our Own Correspondent.) Two interesting tennis matches were played recently by the Stauway Club, the first being a return match when the Dunolly Club members visited, and the second when Stanway visited Haleombe. In both cases the Stanway team was defeated but many of the games proved very close. Mr. Duncan, Te Karau, is visiting Mr. and Mrs. G. Johnston. Mrs. Brogden and Miss Margaret Brogden have been the guests of the former’s sister, Mrs. A. Marshall. Mr. and Mrs. T. B. Biles are staying with their son, Constable T. J. Miles, Blenheim. The annual meeting of the Stanwav 1 Sewing Guild was held recently when Mrs. V. B. Short was re-elected president and Miss Nula Jefferies secretary, Miss Iris Craine being in charge of the sewing section and Mrs. Short the knitting. During the year the following work was completed: 17 pairs socks, 1? scarves, 37 balaclavas, 30 pairs mittens, 11 flying jerseys, and 35 garments to the Lady Galway Guild.
