Feilding British Music Society

There were nearly 50 music lovers present at the first evening of the Feilding branch of the British Music Society’s 1944 season. The large room at the Community Centre had been decorated with dahlias and gladioli, the work of Mrs. K. Dowrick, and prior to the programme the president (Mr. D. B. Rowe) read a letter from Mrs. H. C. Morgan, the past secretary, conveying wishes fox a successful season. The musical programme comprised pianoforte items by Mesdames Sandilands, Jenkins and Miss Humphrey, vocal solos by Mrs. Pearce, Miss Matheson, Miss P. Hastie and Mi. Rowe, while .Mrs. Eliott and Mr. and Mrs. Farmer presented two instrumental trios and Mrs. Rowe a cello solo. Mrs. W. A. Sandilands tested members’ musical knowledge with a competition and supper brought a successful evening to a close.
