Squash Rackets

Mr. T. M. N. Rodgers, president, presided over a large attendance at the eighth annual general meeting of the Palmerston North Squash Rackets Club. The meeting stood in silence as a mark of respect to the memory, of the late 11. N. Watson, who had been patron and president of the club since its inception. Officers elected: Patron, Dr. R. V. Hooper; president, Mr. T. M. N. Rodgers; vicepresidents, Messrs F. A. Cousins and A. E. Hansel; hon. secretary-treasurer, Mr. R. O. Haddon; committee, Messrs G. Somerville, H. Landers, D. G. Glendinnlng, W. It. Snell, G. A. Rotherham, A. D. Long and E- Morrah; club captain* Mr. W. R. Snell; hon. auditor, Mr. 11. J. Rees. It was decided to open the winter season officially on Wednesday, March 22, when a Yankee tournament will be held. A motion of appreciation was accorded Messrs W. T. and R. Duckworth Ltd. for their donation of a silver cup for the ladies’ championship.
