Series of Bomb Outrages in Palestine

RUGBY, March 1. A series of bomb outrages occurred in Palestine recently. On February 24 at Haifa a bomb buried outside the garage of the deputy superintendent of police exploded under his car as he drove out. The car was wrecked but Colonel Horsbourgh escaped with superficial injuries. A second bomb exploded as a police car containing two British inspectors and a sergeant was passing along a road. The car was damaged. These outrages are thought to have been attributable to storm groups. On January 29 explosions in a Government transport agency car park wrecked a lorry and damaged four. On February 12 bomb outrages were perpetrated in Jerusalem, Haifa and Tel Aviv against immigration offices, causing damage to buildings and archives in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. There were no casualties. A Jew arrested in Jaffa admitted being a member of the Irgum Zvai Leumi, the military organisation of the revisionists. This organisation openly admitted responsibility for the outrages in Jerusalem, Haifa -and Tel Aviv. On February 26 explosions took place in the income tax offices at Tel Aviv and Haifa causing extensive damage at Tel Aviv. An unexploded bomb was found in the tax offices at Jerusalem. There were no casualties in any of these incidents which are evidently further developments in tk o antiGovernment campaign of the Irgum Zvai Leumi. It is stated that active steps are being taken to round up those responsible.
