i Mr H. P. Lawry S.M. presided at the j sitting of the Magistrate’s Court in t Palmerston North yesterday. , Alex John Peters admitted damaging j a telegraph wire at Longburn with a , shot gun. He said he had fired at a , hawk, not noticing that the wire was in the line of fire.—Fined 30s with 12s , costs. B. M. Havill rode a motor-cycle which had not been re-registcred and paid a penalty of £2 with 12s costs. For not : having renewed the warrant of fitness the fine was 10s with 10s costs. For casting offensive matter in a public place G. B. Saunders was fined £1 with 10s- costs.
