Medieval Dungeons Find New Occupants GERMANISATION OF COUNTRY EXPEDITED Received Wednesday, 9.40 p.m. LONDON, Jan. 3. A new wave of arrests has swept over Czechoslovakia, says the Belgrade correspondent of the Times. The victims are army officers including four generals, members of tho Government 41 troop , n also tho office staff at the Skoda works and journalists. The arrest of tho Government troopers is due to tho infiltration iu the ranks by German spies. The entire foreign correspondence staff of Skoda has .been taken into custody. The Gestapo raided the headquarters of the ilegal newspaper To Arms, and, it is believed, killed a number of the editorial writers. The Prague prisons are full of dungeons which were formerly exhibited as examples of medieval barbarism, and these are again being employed. The process of Germanisation is being expedited. Villages are evacuated for German colonisation and all educational establishments closed. Quantities of food are being transferred to Germany.
