Quick Save by Feilding Fire Brigade
BOX COMPANY’S PREMISES ALIGHT Yesterday the Feilding Fire Brigade effected a quick save in handling an outbreak of fire in the premises in Haybittle Street formerly owned by the Feilding Box Company. The brigade received the call shortly after one o’clock yesterday afternoon and within five minutes of the sounding of the siren the fire had been put out. On arrival the brigade found that lire of unknown origin had broken out iuside the building on the front wall. Being of wood and built some years ago following a serious lire when the premises were gutted, this incipient outbreak gave promise 6 f a serious fire and but for the quick turn-out of the brigade this would have been realised. The premises were barricaded and it is a mystery how the fire occurred inside the premises with access seemingly securely barred. Only slight damage was done to a few timbers of the front wall. Tne premises were taken over .by Alessrs. Cook and Sons, of Palmerston North, and it is understood were used to store butter boxes.
