DISPUTE OVER TITLE SETTLED United Press Association— By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. Received Thursday, 7.20 p.m. APIA, Dec. 27. Shortly after the Malietoa died in July last Toane Viliuinu, his second son, was elected, but this was objected to by the descendants of two of the Malietoa who had held the title during tho nineteenth century. These objections came before the Court in October and were determined during a hearing lasting five days. Thin month a decision was given in favour of a “son of” the late holder. Ati Tanu, the elder son, returned to Samoa in August, having been a student at St. Stephen’s College, Auckland, and tho Pacrata Methodist College. On the Court’s decision Toane Yiliamu voluntarily retired in favour of the elder son, who was duly appointed Malietoa by his people on December 3 5.
