Two Motor-cyclists Killed in Head-on Impact
NURSE GRAVELY INJURED Per Press Association. HAMILTON, Dec. 27. Two young men were killed, a young woman was critically injured, and & third young man less seriously injured in a motor-cycle collision w'hich occurred between Te Aroha and Matamata tonight. The victims were:— Killed Mr. Frederick Albert Stokes, stor#inan, of Craddock Street, Avondale. Mr. Colin Brick, aged 21, dairy factory employee, of To Aroha. Injured Miss Ellen Campbell, probationary nurse, of Matamata; condition very critical. Mr. Harold Clarke, railway employee, of Matamata; condition not serious. Mr. Stokes was riding a motor-cycle with Mr. Clarke as pillion rider. 1 hey wero travelling along Alexandra itoad from Te Aroha to Alutamata and when 10 miles from To Aroha were involved in a heud-on collision with another motor-cycle ridden by Mr. Brick, who had Miss Campbell on the pillion *o:it. Mr. Stokes died almost immediately and Mr. Brick died in the ambulance on tho way to the hospital.
