Wedding Bells

Owing to the illness of her father the wedding quietly took place at Ven. Bede's Anglican Church, Shannon, in the afternoon of Saturday, December 16, of Joan, youngest daughter of Mr. A. McLaggau aud the late Mrs. McLaggan, of Petone, and previously of Tokoinaru, to Raymond Lynne, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. R. Fitzmaurice, of Petone. The officiating minister was Rev. E. W. Burgin and Mrs. H. Easton was at the organ. The bride was escorted up the aisle by her brother-in-law, Mr. M. Parr, and she wore a lightweight spring costume of valley green with skunk fur and London tan accessories and carried a sheaf of roses to

Later, relatives and close friends of tho family were entertained at the residence of the bride's sister, Mrs. M. Parr, Grand Street.

After a tour by car of the Tauranga district Mr. and Mrs. Fitzmaurice will make their home at Petone.

On the evening of Wednesday, December 20, the marriage was solemnised at tho Anglican Church, Kurow, of Louisa, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Munro, of Omarama, North Otago, and Corporal Cecil A. Maude, youngest son of Mrs. and the late Mr. Maude, of Gore, Southland. The officiating minister was Rev. W. Edgar, of Kurow. On account of the illness of her father, the bride was escorted by her cousin, Mr. W. Collins, of Kurow, and for the occasion she wore a cyclamen georgette frock with navy accessories and carried an ivory-bound prayer book. A friend, Mrs. Cliff Veitch, of Gore, also dressed in cyclamen and navy and carrying a prayer book, was matron of honour.

Mr. W. Johns, of Kurow, was best man. The church was a bower of roses for tho occasion, Mrs. Edgar being responsible for the carrying out of the decorations and at her home, where at the special request of Rev. and Mrs. Edgar the reception was held, roses again were in profusion and adorned the wedding cake. For her Loneymon trip to the south the bride wore a navy costume and accessories.

Corporal Maude is going overseas with the first echelon and Mrs. Maude will return and make her homo with her sister, Mrs. T. Harrison at Shannon.
