Melody Dance Club
A very happy evening was spent, among a large crowd on Saturday evening by the Melody Dance Club, in the Cosmopolitan Hall. Many novelty dances were enjoyed, and extra prizes distributed to the competitors? During the evening Miss Win Hubbard, organiser, spent quito a busy time presenting Christmas gifts to each of the committee, orchestral players and also the M.C’s, apd doorkeepers in appreciation of their excellent services rendered during the last 12 mouths. The duties of M.C. were attentively and courteously carried out by Mr. Howard York. A professional orchestra supplied the oldtimo (and occasional modern) dance music in their usual good style. At an interval the M.C. conveyed to all patrons Christmas greetings received by letter to Miss Hubbard from the Melody Dance Club’s former M.C., Mr. W. J. Jordan, who is ndw with the military forces. Tho next Melody dance will be held early next week, and as this will be the final for 1939 an exceptionally good Christmas programme is being arranged and everyone is assured of a really good time.
