Cricket in Feilding
REPRESENTATIVE TEAM The Feilding Cricket Association has selected the following team to represent Feilding against Afanawatu at Palmer-
ston North on New Year’s Day:— Bramwell, Bennett, Dewe (captain), Dunn, Edelston, James, Packer, Reynolds, W. H. Smith, Af. Waldin, L. Whitehead. Reserves: Jarrett, Thompson, Hight. Anyone unable to play please ring Air. J. Dewe, telephone 670 or 428. FEILDING ASSOCIATION MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETING The management committee of the Feilding Cricket Association met on Wednesday evening, Air. J. G. Eliott (president) presiding. There were also present: Messrs. W. Dunn, J. Dewe, W. Gleeson, T. James, C. B. AlcClure and T. Donaldson (secretary). Correspondence relating to friendly games with the Ohakea Air Station was dealt with, and it was decided to arrange games in the New Year.
The Southern Hawke’s Bay Association wrote accepting the Goldfinch and Cousins match for Anniversary Day at Dannevirke. The association also wrote inviting Feilding to send a junior team as well, and it was agreed to do this.
It was decided to arrange a game between a Feilding second eleven and a Manawatu team at Palmerston North on Anniversary Day. The annual match against the Rangitikei Association is to be arranged after the holidays. Alessrs. Wally Carter and F. Brisco were appointed junior selectors. Tho matter of conducting a garden party at “The Pines” in aid of the Centennial funds was held over until the next meeting. The competition will resume on Saturday, January 6. It was decided to arrange for a match against at Palmerston North on New Year’s Day.
