Misses M. Hay, of Rotorua, and I. Jordan, of To Kuiti, are the guests of Mrs C. H. Tate, Fcilding. Mrs Charles Luxmoore and Miss Margaret Luxmoore, of Kiwitea, are spending a holiday at Paraparaumu. Mrs E. Burrell, Kimbolton road, Feilding, is on a visit to her brother, Mr Charles Dick, of Te Kuiti. Mrs A. C. McKmght, of Alan street, who has been staying with her daughter, Mrs Halford, of Auckland, has returned home. Miss M. Le Cheminant has returned to Palmerston North, having spent a holiday on the Wanganui river and at Waitomo Caves. Miss L. C. Sheppard, of Massey College, is attending the biennial conference of the New Zealand Library Association at 'Wellington. Mrs F. Just, with her email daughter Jennifer, and Miss Shirley Findlay, of Palmerston North, are tho guests of Mrs Moore, Patea. Mrs Alice Evans, of Rongotea, who has been in Wellington for some months, returned recently and for the past -week has been tho guest of Mrs Williams, of Hobson street, Feilding. At the annual meeting of All Saints’ branch of the Mothers’ Union yesterday afternoon members learned with regret that one of tho members, Mrs Renwick had been indisposed. Mr and Mrs S. Parkes, “Parklands,” Terrace End, leave to-day on a motor trip to the north. They will be accompanied by Mr Parkes’ sister, Mrs Hampson, who is their guest, who arrived from Southport, Lancashire, last week on a visit to the Dominion. Miss Jessie I. Morgan, B.Sc. in H.Sc., was appointed by the Palmerston North Technical School Committee to the position of homo science teacher at tho school. Miss Morgan takes up the position vacated by Miss C. H. Mac Gibbon, who has been appointed to the stall of the School of Home Science at the University of Otago. For a period last year Miss Morgan relieved in place of Miss Mac Gibbon, who was on leave of absence in order to further her studies in America, Great Britain and the Continent. In the course of the present vacation, Miss Mac Gibbon spent a morning in Palmerston North on her way south, after her return from Great Britain, to her home in Otago.
