(From Our Own Correspondent) Town Board Meeting, At the monthly meeting of the Bulls Town Board, in the absence of Air J. E. Walker, Mr F. A. Holland was voted to the chair. There were also present l Messrs. A. W. Amon, C. H. Edwards, J. • J. Alansell and D. A. Lundy. Alessrs. Walker and Price were given leave of ab- ' sence. Foreman S. Howard reported on work 1 done for the month ending February li. ; as follows:—Engaged mowing grass on footpaths and sides or road in the follow--1 ing streets: High, Hammond, Bridge, ! Flower, Gorton, Church, Daniel and Criterion streets, and Button’s lane. Patched main roads with “lay-cold.'’ Burned hay on Domain. Air Haycock has ploughed a fire-break on the Domain. Scythed grass! ■ and dug around trees at yards, and ' cleaned up ground at soldiers’ monument. : Carted rubbish away from Town Hall. Clipped hedges at cemetery and did a general clean-up. Paths were mowed there. A small table has been put in the rest room at the cemetery. ’ The foreman was instructed to hold a “clean-up" day on Wednesday week if 1 possible, and reidents are asked to put out rubbish on that day. Correspondence.—From the Rangitikei County Council, regarding Docal Government Amalgamation Schemes Bill, 1936, advising that the council proposed to convene a conference early in the next financial year, of representatives of the various local authorities whose districts I form part of or are geographically situated within the County of Rangitikei, to discuss the Bill.—lt was resolved to at- \ tend the conference. From Alessrs Fraser and Burke, Ltd., .enclosing plans of the new Bank of New Zealand and asking for a permit to proceed with the erection of the building.—The plans having been approved by the health inspector, a permit was granted. From the secretary of the Alanawatu Employers’ Association, enclosing a copy of the local body drivers’ award.—Received. From Alloy Steel (N.Z.), Ltd., regarding metallurgical products.—Received. Coronation festivities.—The Town Board resolved to reserve the Town Hall for the night of Wednesday, May 12. Mr. H. H. C. Holland, representing the Bulls R.S.A., asked for permission to use the hall on that evening for a Coronation ball.—Permission was granted, subject to certain restrictions; the hoard laying it down that no nailing was to be done on the walls. In reply to Air. H. 11. C. Holland, the chairman moved that the matter of covering the stage so as to stop draughts, and throw out sound into the hail, be referred to the- Town Hall committee for attention. Finance.-—-Collections for 'the month were shown as follow:—Rents, £ll 4s; rates, £225 12s d; transfer of publican’s license, £4; library rent, £2; library subscriptions, £1 2s; cemetery. 15s; domain, £7 6s 6d; total, £252 Os Id. Accounts were paused for payment under the fol- , lowing headings:—District fund, £175 Is sd; Clifton cemetery, £3 ss; cemetery, £1 ss; domain, £1 ss. Works committee. —Cmrs. Holland. Lundy and Alansell were appointed to act for the ensuing month.
