A London correspondent, who recently met 'Dr. Cyril Alington, the former headmaster of Eton, states that the great educationalist considered girls far more individual than boys. “The herd life of the big public schools is probably good for the majority of boys/* he said, “but not so for girls, who need a more individual type of education.” Although he was a firm advocate of boarding schools for boys, he though the home was the best place for a girl, and if the home was at all satisfactory it was good for girls to stay there as long as possible and not to be sent to boarding schooT
