(From Our Own Correspondent) On Wednesday a team from Pohangina journeyed to Aratika to play a friendly game with the local tennis club. The visiting team proved to be the winners by s sets to s.Afternoon tea served in the new pavilion was much enjoyed by all, and made a pleasing break in the afternoon's play. The following are the details of the scores, Arotika players being mentioned first:— ‘Men’s Singles: G. Burr lost to W. Smart o—o, I. Neill lost to R. Smart 2—6, R. Weaileana lost to G. Thompson 4—6, C. Wilson beat I. Lepper 6—5. Ladles’ Singles: Mrs Slight lost to Miss Maddison 4—6, Miss O. Whittaker beat Miss J. Howell 6—4. Ladies’ Douoles: Mrs Caldwell and Mrs Slight beat Miss Maddison and Miss J. Ho well 6—3, Miss B. Dungey and Alias G. Whittaker lost to Miss Maddison and Aliss J. Howell 3—(i. Men’s Doubles: A. Burr and C. Wilson beat W. Smart and R. Smart 7—6, I. Neill and R. Wealleans lost to G. Thompson and I. Lepper 3—7. Mixed Doubles: Mrs Caldwell and A. Burr beat W. Smart and Miss Maddison | G—3, Mrs Slight and I. Neill lost to R. i Smart and Aliss J. Howell 4—6, Miss O. Whittaker and R. Wealleans lost to G. Thompson and Miss Aladdlson I—6, Miss B.
