(From Our Own Correspondent) Tlio W.D.F.U. held -their monthly meeting on Wednesday, there being present ALesdames J. Lowes, C. Evans, J. Evans, J. Judd, K. Judd, F. Fulton and G. Judd, J. Reid, and Misses BThompson, J. Judd and C. Evans. The garden party which had been anticipated had to be postponed until next month on account of the unavoidable absence of Mrs Wilton. It was decided to hold a picnic for the children In place of the Christmas tree treat which had to be abandoned on account of the epidemic. It was decided to use the remainder of the Christmas funds for prizes. Miss C. Evans and Mr T. Fulton are to be in charge of the programme. It was decided to hold a shop day in Eketahuna on the 23th. In order to raise funds to send a delegate to the annual conference In Wellington in July. Mrs J. Reid and Mrs K. Judd were asked to provide entertainment at the garden party at Mrs Wilton's next month. This concluded the business and the rest of the afternoon was spent socially. A competition was held and after a tie between Mrs Evans and Mrs Jv. Judd, the latter proved the winner. Personal Miss P. Lowes is visiting her sister, Mrs F. Pearse, at W 1 Totara. Miss N. Hall, of Tuaapau, is visiting relations in the district. Mr and Mrs O. Cooper and family are attending a wedding in Wellington. Much regret was feit in the district at the accident which befell Mr William Sykes. Deceased spent most of his life lurming in Rongomai until a few years ago when he retired. Mr and Mrs W. B. Matheson, of Seatown, are at Tiritahi to welcome Mr and Mrs J. Burton who are just married and will be currying on the farm. A welcome will be tendered Mr and Mrs Burton in die school shortly.
