Coming-of-age Party At Ohakea

The birthday of Miss Pattie Capstick, of Ohakea, was celebrated last Thursday at a cheery gathering of about 40 guests arranged by her parents at their home. The evening was perfect and dancing and games on the lawn were enjoyed until 10 o'clock. Guests then adjourned to the house for cards and music. After eleven o'clock supper was partaken of and the cake, which had been made and beautifully iced by Mrs Capstick, adorned the centre of the table, with the gold key on top. The guest of the evening (Miss Capstick) was in a pretty blue and white figured silk frock and was presented with a bouquet of roses, beautifully made, by Mrs Benjamin Frecklington. Prizes were given out and the happy evening closed with musical honours land the singing of 44 Auld Lang Syne."
