Pleasant Evening Party for Visitors to the City
A very pleasant party was held at tho residence of Mrs E. C. Barnett, Fitzherbert avenue, on Tuesday evening, the gathering being arranged for the two-fold purpose of enabling Miss Rosemary Ross, of Dunedin, secrtary of the Old Girls’ Association, of Dunedin, to meet representatives of the Old Girls ' Associations in this district and consider forming such an association in Palmerston North, and also to introduce Miss Anio Bennett, of Wellington, Mrs Barnett 's guest. Mrs Barnett received the guests and was assisted by her daughters, Misses Joan and Pat Barnett. Those assem&bled chatted happily together and were unanimous in their enthusiasm deciding to take the initial steps towards forming an association. Competitions provided diversion and supper was later enjoyed. The representatives present included Mesdames G. Dixon and A. Adcock (Wanganui 0.G.), Mrs Armstrong (Woodford), Miss K. Birnie (Palmerston North Girls' High SchooJ), Miss S. Collins (Iona), Miss May Akers (Nga Tawa).
