Australian Party to Visit Hawke’s Bay
TOURING FARMERS. A party of 24 Australian farmers and their wives will arrive iu Napier on Monday next, February 15, in the course of a threo-weeks tour of the Dominion. They will stay in Napier until Wednesday morning, when they will leave for Masterton. Tho tour has been aranged by the Tourist Department which is controlling the visit. Arriving in Napier on Monday at 5.30 p.m., the party will on the next day bo escorted around the district by officials of the Hawke’s Bay branch of tho Farmers’ Union. As yet no decision has been made as to what entertainment will be provided thq visitors, but tbo secretary of the union, Mr D. Balharry, informed the Herald-Tribune this morning that a meeting was shortly to bo held, when the matter would be discussed. ‘‘The visitors will probably be taken to see the freezing-works in the morning,” be said, * ‘and in the afternoon they will be able to visit stud farms and other places >f interest.” The women members of the party will probably be catered for by the Hastings members of the Women’s Division of . the Farmers’ Union. ' The pariy arrived in Wellington by
the Awatea this morning, and t-hey will finish their tour on Monday, February 29, when they leave by the Mar&ma from the Bluff for Melbourne.
