First Day’s Play In Bowling Competition

THREE WITH THREE WINS IN CHAMPION FOURS. Beautiful weather favoured the first day’s play in the Champion Fours competition. The Waipukurau green was in splendid order, and keen games were witnessed by . a good crowd of “bankers.” Napier, Wairere and Bluff Hill won all three matches. WAIPUKURAU V. WAIPAWA. WAIPAWA, Feb. 8. On Saturday afternoon four rinks from the Waipukurau Bowling Club visited Waipawa and played a friendly match. A most enjoyable afternoon was spent and at the conclusion of play, Mr. Townsend, on behalf of the visitors, thanked the members of the Waipawa Club for their hospitality and expressed the hope that a return visit could be arranged in tho near future. The results of the various games were as follow, Waipawa players being named first:— Holt, Carne, Davy, Holt Senr. 22; Bradley, Townsend, Turner, Meredith 39. Kingston, Jull, Eddy, Walker 17; Hitchins, Duckworth, Scott, Martin 17. Noel), Fletcher, Cook, Chisholm 24; Beachen, McLean, ParkiD, White 12.
