Tennis Party at “ Wavertree,” Feilding

At il Wavertree,” the pretty country home of Mrs Gordon Hare, a very jolly party , was given on Saturday by her daughter, Miss Lucy Hare. The guest of the afternoon was Miss Amy Phillips and those present were her most intimate friends who are making every effort to see as much of her as possible during the short while she will remain in Feilding. The glorious weather was perfect for tennis and the court in its setting of fine old trees and gardens looked most attractive. Following strenuous play in the sunshine, afternoon, tea in the cool of the house was much appreciated and the decorations there were deftly carried out with, scarlet and gold gleam nasturtions.

Those at the party were Mesdames Gordon Haro, G. Phillips, Hugh Hare, E. M. Meyrick, H. Wirgman Wood, M. Waldin, Misses Janet Hare (Gisborne), Mary Hare, Grace and Kitty Buchanan, Peggy Young (Palmerston North), Patricia Goodbehere, Phemie Cornfoot, Flora and Ruth Conway, Molly Ross, Constance Smith (Wellington), Gwen Kellow, Joyce Campbell and Merle Jonnins (New Plymouth).
