Driver Disappears When Cars Crash
ONE VEHICLE REPORTED STOLEN (Special to 41 Times”) HASTINGS, Feb. 5. A collision between a car, reported’ to have been stolen, and a stationary 1 car occurred in Tomoana road, Hast 1 ings, at 11.30 o’clock la*t night, and 1 tho only person (tho driver of tho alleged stolen vehicle) who can give the. Hasting* police any infoxmatioa missing. Tho first intimation the polico re-) ocived of tho accident was when Air, Mayo, of Tomoana road, advised themj by telephone that an unknown car had, crashed into his car, which was parked outside tho residence. An investigation led to the discovery of the second cari near the seen* of tho accident. Later in tho morning the police were* advised by Air N- Johnson, of Tomoano; that his car had been removed over- ; night from his place of residence, and! it was then ascertained that it was this vehicle that was concerned in tho accident. It is obvious that immediately after the collision the driver hurried away from the scene, and though intensive inquiries were made this morning tho police have been unable to establish his identity.
