Visit to France House
MR. AND MRS. GERHARD lIUSHEER. (Special to “ Times”) HASTINGS, Feb. 3. Mr and Mrs Gerhard Hushoer, wh< have always taken a very great interest in the work of the Hawke’s Bay Children’s Homes, which have received great help from Mr Husheer’s generosity, gave a further evidence of that interest on Sunday afternoon, when they paid a visit to tho Children’s Home camp at France House, Eskdale. The camp is established in Conway’s paddock, and here the visitors spent a very pleasant time among the children, and before leaving Mr Husheer presented each child with an amount of 3/-. Two little girls played the mouthorgan for the visitors. Subsequently, Mr Husheer presented each with a valuable accordion. In addition, a quantity of goods, consisting of cooked ham, raw ham, four cases of fruit, a side of bacon, boxes of chocolates, cordials, 12 tins of biscuits, boiled sweets, bananas, apples, pears, chocolate fish, Dominion sausage and saveloys were sent to the home. Songs were sung by the children and cheers given for the visitor®. Mrs Hansen returned thanks. Mr and Mrs Husheer also visited tho children at France House Itself, where they distributed sweets and chocolate fish. Cheers were given, and the hope was expressed that Mr and Mrs Husheer would visll the homo again.
