Mr and Mrs T. Simcox and family, oi Puketitiri, are spending a holiday at Taupo. Mr. St. John Hindmarsh, Napier, has returned home after visiting Adelaide for the centenary celebrations. Mr E. Wall, of Hastings, left yesterday morning for Wairoa, where he will act as judge in the jug section of the ■■Wairoa A. and P. Show. Mr J. T. Dunlop, who is at present accountant in the money-order and sav-ings-bank branch of the Post and Telegraph Department, Napier, has received notice of his transfer on promotion as accountant at Wanganui. Mr Dunlop, who has been stationed in Napier lor the past five years, will leave for Wanganui during the middle of this month, and will be succeeded by Mr H. J. Downes, of Christchurch. Mr and Mrs and Miss Gaze, Wanganui, who have been visiting guests of Mr and Mrs C. Poulsen, Te Whiti, have returned homo. Mr and Mrs Oswald Olsen, and family of Auckland, one time residents of Ngamoko, are staying with Mrs Chas. Olsen, Norsewood. Miss Helen Macdonald, who has been visiting Ormondvillo as the guest of Mrs T. G. Hosking, has returned to her nome at Westport. Mr and Mrs Edgar Wills, who have been on a motor tour of the North island, paid a short visit to Ormondville, where they were the guests of Mrs T. J. Wills, before returning to their nome at Mohaka. Miss Ivy Pedersen, who has . been tho guest of Mr and Mrs Walter Dazzler, Ormondvillo, has returned to Havelock North. Mr and Mrs R. C. Adlam, who have >een touring tho North Island, have rourned to Waipawa. The Rev. W. T. and Mrs Drake and family have returned to Waipawa after a holiday at Taupo. Mr A. L. Mackay and Miss E. McCannon have been appointed to vacancies on the staff of the primary department of the Waipawa District High School. Mr George Mclntyre, of Herehcretau, as returned from a trip to Hastings. Mr R. Mclntyre, of Mangaone, has been on a visit to Southern Hawke’s Bay. The death occurred at his residence, Dublin street, Dannevirke, on Monday of Mr Lars Larsen, an old colonist, and a highly respected resident of Dannovirke for about 20 yearß. A native of Sweden, the deceased came to New Zealand when a young man of 24, arriving at Port Chalmers. He came on to tho North Island and took up farming pursuits in the Wellington district, being for 24 years manager of Papanui Station, in Ohariu Valley. The late Mr Larsen, who was 80 years vf age, is survived by his widow,- ode son—Air. 11. G. Larsen, of tho Bank of/New South Wales, Dunedin, and two’ daughters— Mrs C. AI. Tickncr, of Dannevirke, and Aliss Olga Larsen, of tho nursing staff of the Hawera hospital.
