Aviation Scholarship

PAHIATUA, Jam 30. A well-known Wairarapa aviation enthusiast, Mr. G. A. C. Elkington, recently donated funds to establish a scholarship for the training of a pupil in obtaining an A licence with the Wairarapa-Ruahino Club. Applications wero restricted to boys of from 17 to 19 years possessing a high standard of education and athletic ability, together with potentialities as flyers.

The entries were narrowed down to four —John Bloxain (Pahiatua), W. If. Swain (Masterton), and D. S. H. Brown and P. K. Vartan (Dannevirke). All but Swain havo undergone a flying test, and the latter will probably be tested next week-end, after which the final selection will be made.
