Mr Semple for Hawke’s Bay

VISIT EARLY IN MARCH. Tho Minister of Public Works, the Hon. R. Semple, will in all probability visit Hawke’s Bay early in March, for the purpose of giving consideration to matters affecting the interests of the Hawke’s Bay County. Some time agj Mr. Semple promised tho Hawke’s Bay County Council that he would try aud pay the district a visit, and now the county clerk, Mr. W. J. O’Connell, bus received a letter from him to tho i effect that he will endeavour to come to Napier early in March. Various items are to receive the Minister’s consideration, tho three main ones being the question of making the Napier-Taihape road a man highway, tho possibilities of providing settlers with a proper bridge at Marshall’s Crossing, Eskdale district, and the matter of preventing flooding of the Ohiwa stream past Fernhill.
