Pahiatua Show
Intending exhibitors at the Pahiatua Show, to be held on Friday, February 12, are reminded that late entries will be accepted up till 8 p.m. on Saturday, February 6. Remarkably fine entries are coining to hand for all sections of the show, and the signs and portents would seem to indicate that the 27th annual fixture will be one of the most successful in the history of the association. The hack classes and jumping competitions are filling extraordinarily well, and a similar remark would apply to the chopping contests, in which some of the best axemen in the Dominion are competing. The entries for the sheep and cattle classes promise to be well in excess of last year’s total. Substantial prize money is being offered in all sections of the show, in addition to which there are many valuable cups and rose bowls. One of the outstanding attractions of the show is Carnival Park, .a beautiful belt of native bush, some 15 acres in extent, adjoining tho grounds—a charming and alluring spot for picnic parties. Hot water is supplied free, while the park is endowed with every modern convenience. On the evening of the stfow a grand ball will be held, the %harges for which will be on a popular basis. Prize schedules will be promptly forwarded on application to the secretary (Mr J. A. Walsh).
