Road Access to New Beach

REQUEST PLACED BEFORE MINISTER. A plan for the sub-division of seaside property 4i miles from Himatangi, was placed before Hon. R. Semple, Alinister of Public Works, when in Palmerston North last evening, along with a request for help in the construction of an access road. The beach is to be known as Koputara and Air Semple was informed would bo very popular as it would be the closest beach to Palmerston North. The owners were prepared to contribute.

Tho Alinister said he realised the advantages of a sea beach in the matter of health and always tried to help city dwellers to get out into such environments.

Air O. J. Dolan said the road would be 200 chains long and would cost about £l4 a chain.

The Alinister pointed out that the first step was for the owners to get tho road surveyed and legalised. After that he would talk business, that is, provided the owners promised they were not going to make too big a

“rake off” out of the venture. He was prepared to give the request sympathetic consideration as he believed in seeing children “sun kissed.”
