A general meeting of members of the local branch of the National Party was held on Saturday evening when a very representative attendance was present. Air Wilkes, one of the Dominion organisers for the National Party, was present and gave a resume of the activities of the party. The following officers were elected:— Chairman, Air B. AlcLeod; secretary and treasurer, Air L. Knight; committee, Messrs H. E. Hocken, H.- W. Shepherd, C. Wilson, J. W. Stewart, E. F. Cousins, W. J. Smith, R. Linklater, A. P. Langdon.
Aliss I. M. Curtis, of Auckland, is at present visiting her sister, Mrs F. K. Hills, “Pino Hill.”
Air T. F. Ashworth continues to male steady progress in the Palmerstoi North Hospital but will not be able t leave the institution for several weeks
Air and Airs R. Lynch's small son Martin, who was the victim of a painful shooting accident some weeks ago, is still an inmate of tho Palmerston North Hospital but it is pleasing to record that tho eye sight will not be affected as at first thought.
