MINUTES. The minutes of previous meeting were read and confirmed. ' PBECIS OF COBBESPONDENCE. Letter From Colonial. Secretary acknowledging receipt of letter from Town Clerk, notifying election of Mr Gr. M. Snelson as Mayor. Letter From J. T. Stewart, Esq., District Engineer, forwarding voucher for 'payment of £110, sum agreed upon for work at Terrace End. Letter from Stratton & Co. applying for payment for extrawork on Terrace street.' Letter From Overseer of Works on* same subject. Besolved, That no additional pay be granted to the contractors for this work. The Town Clerk was instructed to sign voucher forwarded by Mr Stewart and pay amount into Bank. Public Works Committee report read. Besolved, That the report be^-re-ceived.* Carried. jfyg. : Besolved, That suitable writingpaper

be procured for the use of Councillors at the Council meetings. Carried. Resolved, That the business of this meeting be adjourned until the 19th inst ., at 2 p.m. Carried. At this stage o£ the proceedings his Worship the Mayor took the chair. BOHOUOH BYE-LAWS. Resolved, That clauses 87 and 94 ho renunibered 81 and 82 and so continue ; that the penalty of an infringement of clause 95 shall be not exceeding 455, and a further penalty not exceeding forty shillings for every day whiles such default is continued. Resolxed, That the bye-laws be adopted as now amended. Carried.
