RAINSTORM AT AUCKLAND.

Per Press Association. AUCKLAND. Oct, 1. Driven by a north-easterly gale that readied its "highest velocity of 44 miles an hour at 2 o’clock this morning, rain lashed Auckland city, and suburbs through the greater part of the night and a fall of 1.26 in was recorded up to 9 o'clock.
