TOWN CLERKS’ INSTITUTE.

A meeting of the New Zealand Town Clerks’ Institute was held'in Palmerston North on Saturday (Mr J. R. Hardie) being in the chair. There, was a full attendance of members. Many matters were discussed, these including patriotic affairs (as many town clerks are carrying out the clerical work of the different zone patriotic committees),, the holding of: district meetings of town clerks throughout New _ Zealand, and matters concerning the Home Guard and the reception and allocation of British children. Elections and polls were also discussed and also the reclamation of waste materials.. Details of the next annual conference of the institute and matters to be discussed there were given attention and arrangements made for the conference.
