Mr G. A. Eliott, presided at. the monthly meeting, of the Board of Directors ot the !yM C A Other members present were Messrs H. L. Cunriinghame, J. Davidson, F. Scott, A.Lawson, A. Boniface,*R. C. Donald, M. mrscelles, A. Yqrtt, D. Rabone, i. Dodder, 3. R. Brown and G. Griggs. The report on tile general activities of the association showed that for tho month seven new . members were recorded m the junior classes. With the closing of the school holidays'primary classes .commenced again with great keenness, . Air Wilkinson assisting. Keen competition m cfass games and physical, training ■ still makes tho secondary group ono' of our most popular classes. Every effort is being made by the boys in their display work and | good results can be guaranteed, .purely by 1 their enthusiasm. 'Attendance in tho young [men’s division has. been excellent, a fur-, j ther increase' in- membership fcoing shown, j This group has gained nine new members since the class commenced in April. 'J he 2ZA Cubs basketball team deserve full credit in winning the A grade championship. Recently the Y.M.D. boys onjoyed a tramp into the Ruahinc Ranges, where many of them saw snow for the first tine. Rki-ingr added to (he great success of the day. Interhouso basketball: A very successful season is now drawing to a close; the 48 teams participating have all shown 'great keenness and sportmanship.. In tho men’s A grade tho 2ZA Cubs, captained by J. Blummont won the interhouse competition by one point. The men’s B grade has yet (o be fought out.. The ladies’ l A and B grades are also being closely contested, and this month’s game will decide the winners. Optimist Club: The club has been most fortunate lately in procuring interesting speakers at' its luncheons. Various subjects from world travels to ]ier6onal experiences have been appreciated by the members. Air Eascellcs and Airs Boon arc thanked for their help to the association. Steps are boing taken .to improve the social influence in the association and igood results have already been shown Members arc appreciative of this move and arc looking forward to the day when they I will enjoy this sphere to its fullest extent.
