PLUNKET SOCIETY.
MONTHLY MEETING
The Palmerston North branch of the Plunket Society met yesterday afternoon, Airs G. C. Petersen presiding. Other members present were Mesdames E. AI. Garner, W. G. Black, K. Garner, H. M. Scott, A. E. Alansford, At. C. McGregor, G. I. AlcGregor, K. F. Kirk, V. flick, R. Edwards and AI. Aitchison (secretary). Apologies for absence were received from Airs S. R. Thomson, and Aliss L. AI. Banks. An invitation to attend the sixth birthday celebration of the Townswomen’s Guild w-as received, Alesdames Petersen and K. Garner being appointed to represent the society. The nurse’s report stated that during the month 248 visits had been paid to homes and 1715 to the office (851 adults, 756 babies and 108 older children). There had been 50 new cases. Fifty-five registration letters and cards and 23 older children’s cards had,been posted. Thirteen letters had been received and answered ■ and parcels of clothing had been received from Alesdames Tait, Lock and 0.. Williams. In Foxton four homes had been visited and 166 visits paid to the office (79 adults, 76 babies and 11 older children). There had been two new cases in Foxton. Sales for the month ' totalled £9 17s lOd and membership fees £3 10s. Donations were received from Alesdames E. Quinn (10s), J. B. Alitchell (4s). E. Collmson (£1 Is), W. I. Mills (10s), and £2 17s 5d was received through the collection box. The secretary reported on a meeting called by the Alayor to make arrangements, for the reception of British children.
