GIRL GUIDES.
All Saints’ Rangers met on Wednesday evening, when discussions took place about the work on soldiers’ hussifs and peggy squares. Mrs M. A. Eliott (District Commissioner) enrolled Sylvia Spear as a Ranger. At eight o’clock all went to the Municipal Library where there is a special section for Guide and Scout literature, and spent a pleasant half-hour looking at the books.
There was a good attendance when the Hokowhitu Brownie Pack met in their Te Awe Awe Street quarters this week. There was a ball game on recruit work. Those who have done all of their second-class work and somo who have nearly finished started work on semaphore. The “Tweenies” learned how to become fully fledged Brownies and thero was a' jig-saw puzzle game with camp fire carols to finish up with. The Kiwitea Brownie Pack had their first visit from the District Commissioner. By kind, permission of Mrs D. Warburton the "meeting was held in her garden. This pack is quite new so there were seventeen recruits to be enrolled. The Brownies then entertained themselves and their parents with singing games. Mies D. Burrell, the Brown Owl of the pack, and Miss E. Batchelor, aro to be complimented on having such an excellent pack in such a short time.
