SUNSHINE CLUB.

The monthly social afternoon of the Sunshine Club was held yesterday, when there was an excellent attendance. Community singing was led by Mrs K. Jones, the accompanist being Mrs W. H. Boon. Mrs Jones also sang three solos, Mrs Fiebig gave an amusing sketch, and Mrs J. N. Lucas (Awaliuri) humorous monologues. Mrs Doherty won the “lucky cup” and a competition was won by Mrs Jones. Mesdames Sorry and Ross (Wellington) were welcomed as visitors. The 'hostesses were Mesdames Harkness, Peters and Lucas. The usual parcel was sent to the minesweeper which the club has adopted. An invitation was received from the Townswomen’s Guild lor two members to attend their birthday gathering, members elected being Mesdames McCulloch and Farland. Several scarves and mittens were sent in by members. Mr 3 E. A. Shaw proposed a vote of thanks to the hostesses. Mrs L- Day was granted six months’ leave of absence.
