OBITUARY.

MRS M. C. LENNOX. Mrs Mary Campbell Lennox, of Opiki, who died recently in a private hospital in Palmerston North after an illness of five months, was a member of a pioneer Canterbury family, being the daughter of the late Mr and Mrs David Gebbie. Mrs Lennox was born at Gobbie’s Valley in 187(3, and was educated in Christchurch. In 1895 she was married to Mr Charles Lennox, a son of Canterbury pioneers. A few years later she moved with her husband to the Manawatu and made her home in Foxton, Palmerston North, Linton, and for the past 18 years at Opiki. The late Airs Lennox was extremely interested in the culture of flowers, and over a period of years competed successfully at most of t'he horticultural shows in the Manawatu. Of a naturally retiring disposition, she was yet possessed of a very wide circle of friends, whose sympathy has been extended to the husband and daughter (Mrs H. W. Kerr, of Palmerston North), who are left to mourn their loss.
