P.D.C. STAFF.

ANNUAL DANCE

A most enjoyable time was spent by members of the staff of the Premier Drapery Company and t'heir friends last evening, when the annual staff dance was held in the P.D.C. tearooms. Red, white and blue lights enhanced the decorative 'scheme, Mr W. M. Sexton (managingdirector) and Mrs Sexton were host and hostess, the latter wearing a frock of black and cherry georgette with black velvet evening coat. Among the guests was Miss Helen Wallace, of Napier, formerly of the staff of the P.D.C.. who wore gold crepe. Under the capable control of Messrs L. Itces and J. Cooper, as M.C.’s, the programme proceeded with a swing, many novelties beinpj introduced to .add to the fun. including an effective “blackout.” Numbers drawn from a hat decided the winners of the lucky Gay Gordons, who proved to be Mrs Rees and Mr 8.. O’Keefe. Other members of the social committee contributing to ensure the enjoyment of all present were Messrs A. McKechnie and A. Harris; Miss M. Smith, the capable secretary, who wore maize taffeta, with gold sequin coatee; Miss M. Tingey, in cyclamen taffeta ; Miss A. Andrews, gold crepe; Miss M. Davey, rose taffeta; Miss E. Turner, plaid taffeta pinafore frock; bliss I. Mills, blue and white checked taffeta. There was a good attendance. and the gathering proceeded in a vein of happy informality.
